All alone on a new platform

It may be time to consider the platform I'm using. To be clear, I'm here because y'all are here. Even with careful coordination, I'm certain I'll lose half my friends list if I move platform.
I'll be creating a Dreamwidth account for now, looks very livejournal-y, which I like, but I've no idea if it'll have the momentum to replace FB.
It may be an impossible dream - to have a platform where the owner does not display any political leaning, where decisions are made on censorship to comply with regulations and safeguard users, determined by the governments of the countries in which it operates, with no donations or lobbying. I don't want a left-wing platform. I want a platform that doesn't have any relationship to politics at all
